What We Like About the Area
Just 30 minutes from Downtown, Northwest Indianapolis has been one of the hottest markets for growth in the metro area in the last couple of decades. Zionsville had less than 9,000 residents in the 2000 census, and Whitestown had less than 500. By the 2010 census, Whitestown had grown over 500% to 2,800 and Zionsville grew 61% to 14,000. Fast forward to 2020 and Zionsville crested 30,000 residents and Whitestown was over 10,000.
Along with the population growth, there’s been a significant increase in the area’s infrastructure, with new restaurants and stores popping up throughout the area, especially near the junction of Whitestown Parkway and Interstate 65.
The area is also home to a significant number of outdoor recreation activities, with Whitestown having more than 50 acres of parks, 13 miles of trails and festivals, markets and events throughout the year. Zionsville repurposed its abandoned rail lines by creating the extensive Big-4 Rail Trail, which links parks, neighborhoods and points of interest throughout the area.
The area also hosts the regional Little League Central Region Complex and is minutes from Eagle Creek Park.
